The Israeli Prehistoric Society bows its head with the passing of Professor James Phillips of the University of Illinois and the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.
Jim was a prehistorian who dug Paleolithic sites in the Middle East, especially in Egypt and Sinai. He was a passionate lover and supporter of the Israel and Israeli archeology, and a longtime friend of the IPS.
