The Israeli Prehistoric Society bows its head with the passing of Tamar Schick.
As a student and research associate of Prof. Stekelis, Tamar was an active partner in the study of the lithic assemblages of 'Ubeidiya and Kebara Cave. She had an important contribution to the study of the prehistory of Israel.
She was famous for her groundbreaking research on textile in the Neolithic period following the discoveries in Nahal Hemer and later on in The cave of the Warrior in the Judean Desert, she also established the division of preservation of organic findings in the Israeli Antiquities Authority.
